What this site does

globalmoneycalc.com helps people understand money. It offers calculators for loans, savings, investments, debt and budgeting, with a guide and FAQ on each one that explains the formula, a worked example and the assumptions behind the result. Comparison pages for financial products will only be published once their facts have been checked against official sources.

Who runs the site

globalmoneycalc.com is run by Jeel Patel, an individual based in India. The site is not a bank, broker, insurer or adviser, and it does not sell financial products. Contact details are on the contact page.

How the calculators are made

  • Each calculator uses a published formula, and the page shows that formula.
  • Each calculator is tested against results from an independent calculation, so its figures can be checked.
  • Results are rounded to the cent or the smallest unit of the currency shown.
  • Nothing you enter is sent to our servers. The calculations run in your browser.

How the guides are checked

Guides explain general concepts such as compound interest, fees and debt repayment. They avoid current rates, limits and tax figures, because those change. Where a page depends on a rate, limit or tax rule, it says where to check the current figure. Each page shows the date it was last updated.

Corrections

We correct errors when we find them or when readers tell us. Send the page address and the source for the correct figure through the contact page. Material corrections are noted on the page.
